Honeymoon pins were popular love token gifts around the turn of the 20th century. They were sentimental jewels incorporating a flower and crescent motif -- the flower symbolizing the honey and the crescent, the moon.
Our jeweler transformed an antique honeymoon pin into an elegant necklace by removing the pin findings from the 14k gold brooch and welding on a new 14k yellow gold chain. The enamel viole is beautifully rendered with a post set pearl and intricate gold border. The crescent is adorned with lustrous half pearls of graduated sizes, and the entire piece is in excellent condition.
Measuring 18 inches in total length, this necklace looks elegant when worn by itself or layered with other dainty gold necklaces. The pendant portion measures 1.1 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall.
Materials: Pearl, Gold.
