Antique Gemstone Giardinetti Flower Basket Conversion Pendant

This remarkable giardinetti or little garden pendant from the Georgian or early Victorian era (circa 1820-1850)!

This outstanding pendant features an urn of flowers adorned with colorful gemstones. The pendant was originally an antique silver brooch transformed with the addition of a 14k gold bail. The pendant holds rose cut diamonds, a teardrop shaped pink tourmaline, a high domed natural sapphire, and smaller green and pink glass accents.

The pendant measures 1.6 inches from top to bottom by 0.85 inches wide. It is in great condition; however, one of the small pink glass cabochons was replaced with a tiny ruby and one of the green glass stones was replaced with an emerald. The sapphire also has a small chip on the side - visible only under magnification.
